Extra sustainability points for DGNB certification

WHAT IS DGNB?

DGNB is one of several certifications in the construction industry that increases focus on sustainability, indoor climate, economy, well-being, and more. It is important to consider sustainability certifications in new construction or renovations as early as possible in the process.

The DGNB system consists of several factors and measurements that contribute points to the overall assessment. Depending on how many points are scored, bronze, silver, gold, or platinum certification is achieved. Everything must be documented and finally approved.

Training in DGNB

To increase our knowledge of DGNB, FlexMeter has participated in a DGNB course at the Green Building Council Denmark, a non-profit organization offering courses for consultants in or around the construction industry. As a result, we have solid knowledge of what is required for certification and how we can assist. FlexMeter is not a certified DGNB consultant, so we refer you to those who are for further information.

DGNB Alternatives

Other certifications include the Nordic Swan Ecolabel for construction. Additionally, there are various international certifications. Each certification has its own strengths, so it’s important to thoroughly research the market before starting a project.

Extra points for the DGNB account

By reducing energy consumption, you not only gain points for the sustainability account but also benefit from energy savings and increased sustainability.

At FlexMeter, we help developers, contractors, or consultants document and identify savings during the construction phase. Using IoT sensors, we collect data on electricity, water, heat consumption, and more. The data is processed and visualized in an easy-to-read energy report. The process varies from project to project, but here’s an example of how it might look.

Documentation

The savings found are documented in the energy report and can be included in the DGNB account for extra points.

Increased demand for certification

More and more public and private developers are requiring sustainability certifications, such as DGNB or the Nordic Swan Ecolabel. Therefore, it’s a good idea to consider certification early in the process.

What does it cost?

The price depends on the size of the installation, the period you wish to measure, the number of reports, and the level of detail required. In addition to the reports, one of the advisors we collaborate with can be involved for further consultation.

FlexMeter is based on a sustainable business model. Equipment is rented for the period needed, and after use, it is applied to new projects, ensuring the lowest possible price and environmental impact.

The rental period can last from just a few days and beyond, so we can surely create a solution that fits your business. Feel free to contact us for a no-obligation conversation.
